Alexandra Cicorschi (b. 1983, Bucharest, Romania), creates abstract wall hanging sculptures exploring ideas of migration and environmental change in relationship with consumerism and our growing disconnect from nature and cultural heritage. She utilizes multiple types of wood repurposed from discarded household objects and construction materials. Her meticulous emphasis on process and craft serves as a commentary on society’s increasing impatience and the diminishing value of our man-made objects due to the effects of mass-consumption.

Alexandra obtained her Diplom (MFA) from Bauhaus University in Germany after studying at the National University of Arts in Bucharest, Romania. She has exhibited at TINT gallery and Bass & Reiner, San Francisco; Cura Contemporary, Morgan Hill; Berkeley Art Center, Berkeley; PRPGMX, Mexico City; the Romanian Cultural Institute in Berlin; Eigenheim Galerie, Weimar. She has also participated in Zona Maco Art Fair and Clavo Movimiento Art Fair in Mexico City, LA Art Show, San Francisco Art Fair and SF Design Week. Her work is included in the permanent collection of Google Headquarters in Mountain View.
Alexandra currently lives and works in San Francisco, California, and is part of the Romanian Art Collective SF.
